In early September 2008, we travelled from Burlington, VT, through Lebanon, NH, to check out the area north of Plymouth. The first area of interest was the small town of Ellsworth due to its reportedly low-regulatory nature. However it was found to present geological issues within a limited geography. One place we toured had several acres of land, but with almost all of it being down the side of a steep slope. Accessibility may be a problem on off-road routes in winter. We then checked out nearby town of Campton which has several large houses available, but hardly any land. Other possible options may exist in nearby town of Holderness. We have noted that this may be a good area for a manor in the future based on the proximity of provisions, accessibility via nearby interstate, and the existence of a college in a nearby town. However we have not been able to find much evidence of any activism or counterculture in this area.
